How can Sony stop the PS3 "jailbreak"?

Today's biggest news wasn't the stuff coming from Gamescom... No, it was the news of a PS3 being hacked. Hacks = piracy, piracy = low sales, low sales = less games (or less INVENTIVE games you can always count on CoD... Sigh...) and less games = a boring fucking time.

Here are some things I think Sony can do :

- Get the USB dongle and find out how it works. BUT do NOT release a patch to remove it's functionality. They need to detect if the console is online and if it is it will run a PURPOSE BUILT VIRUS that bricks the PS3. The person who bought the USB will contact Sony asking for support only to be labelled as a pirate and will then face a FINE. This harsh method will stop any further hacks and it will stop any retards stupid enough to buy one in the first place.

- Change from USB to firewire for the PSEYE (USB to fireware cable?) to stop piracy on newer PS3 models. Or even a propietery port that new PSEyes can connect to?

- SUE THE FUCK OUTTA THE DIPSHIT WHO INVENTED THIS

- SUE THE FUCK OUTTA THE CUNTS WHO ARE SELLING IT

- Make it illegal in the EU, UK and USA. All who sell it openly will be fined $100K for every USB sold.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE  : "http://psjailbreak.com/" HAS BEEN SHUT DOWN. That didn't take long.

  1. Post pictures of all Cunt Pirates on the web and explain why hes a cunt. Embarrass the fuck out of em. Fine em as well. I'm with you 100% but sadly Sony wont implement these :( They need a department made to combat pirates and you should be the head of it :0

  3. Rofl @ fanboys. The majority of the shit you mentioned is not only impossible, but improbable. This has already gone public and there's not much Sony can do about it, just like the PSP, DS, 360, and Wii.

took them long enough.. I need to buy one of these babys.

  5. According to a site that reviewed the device, once you install the back up app to the ps3 it can't be easily removed. All sony will have do is a search of the app is on your hard drive and bam! You get the ban hammer just like on the 360 but with out the stealth dvd drive.

  6. I have no pblm with the device, and honestly, I hope sony can't stop it. It allows ps3s to easily load mods onto sp games (which is what ill b doin with it) and opens the door to thousands of homebrew apps. What does offend me is that many will be using it to pirate games, not only does this hurt the industry, but is an insult to the developers who spend ungodly amounts of time producing these games. Oh and just saying, I hope all of u pirates get shipped to somalia and see what happens when u try to steal shit there

  7. The site isn't taken down, just won't load since so many people are going to it.

  8. Smart users who get it won't go online with it. I'd even wager a good number of people would buy a second PS3 simply for this device and forgo all online activity.

  10. 1) What if you don't go online with it?
    2) If I don't go online with it, then what?
    3) Say I play it, but without the network cable plugged in, then what?

  19. "Get the USB dongle and find out how it works." They already know how it works, "Dipshit". It's based around something THEY MADE and have hundreds(thousands?) of floating around there workshops...

So Sony are supposed to find a way to impose fines that they have no legal right to do?

You think sony would change everything to Firewire? And lock out millions of machines that have already been brought? FUCK NO!

Not to mention the fact that they basically need to use this entry-method to fix PS3s, So they would have to bring the functionality that makes this possible over to a Firewire version...

Yeah, they might be able to sue anyone that makes/sells this, as long as it contains Sony code. Otherwise, All is fair.

That idea of yours... SONY CAN'T JUST GO AROUND MAKING UP LAWS. You might think they're the most holy people in the universe, but they have to follow the same protocol as everyone else.
